He spent three years with Celtic Thunder and during that time he played to some of the biggest, most prestigious audiences of his career.

They played their first concert at the Helix in Dublin and were so popular that the show was taken across the USA.
They performed to 125,000 people during their US tour. In 2008 the band released two albums and DVDs featuring songs from their live shows.
Byrom also released a solo album of Christmas songs titled, I’ll be Home for Christmas, in 2008 which made it into the Classical Billboard Charts.
In 2009, Byrom sang in front of the most powerful man in the world when Celtic Thunder performed at the White House for President Obama and the First Lady on St Patrick’s Day.
They also opened the New York City St Patrick’s Day parade earlier that day. Another album and tour of North America marked the end of a busy year for the group.
Pursuing a solo career
In February 2010, the group released another album and continued to tour. At the end of the year they released a Christmas album, simply titled, Christmas.
Byrom left Celtic Thunder in 2010 to pursue his solo career. He released an album, This is the Moment, which flew to the top of the World Billboard Charts. He followed it up with a successful tour of North America.
He continues to perform and record new songs and said on his website: “I am truly excited about what lies ahead for me”.
Raising money for a special show
He is now well established as one of Ireland’s leading performers and continues to record and tour. However, in order to achieve even greater success, Byrom says he needs to produce a show for PBS in America.
That involves raising $50,000. To do so, he turned to the Kickstarter Project. We’ll bring you more on that and Byrom’s progress next week.
We’ll let you know when via Twitter and Facebook so please follow us for more details.
