The Storehouse was opened in 2000 and cost £30million to build. It is seven storeys tall and has a glass atrium at the centre.
The atrium is shaped like a giant Guinness pint glass. Millions of tourists have visited since it opened.
In 2006 Guinness spent €2.5m building an extra wing of their storehouse. People who visit the new wing are able to see the Guinness brewing process in action.
What can you do on the tour?
While on the tour you will learn all about the 250 year history of the famous drink. The tour ends at the Gravity bar where visitors are given a complementary pint.
Around 100 tourists each week are invited to the storehouse computer to set the first step of the brewing process in motion. There is also a new tasting lab where visitors can sample the beer from the keg line and are taught by the Storehouse professional tasting team how best to savour the drink.
Celebrate St Patrick’s Day at the Storehouse

Since 2006 the storehouse has hosted a three-day fringe festival to mark St Patrick’s Day. Hundreds of acts from Ireland and all over the world appear at the Storehouse.
There is a variety of entertainment during the festival with acts performing comedy, jazz, Celtic rock and American marching band music.
The Guinness storehouse has attracted several celebrity visitors including movie stars Elijah Wood, Susan Sarandon, Tim Robbins and Rupert Everett as well as bands such as punk superstars, Green Day and Irish crooners, Westlife.
Former Formula 1 driver Eddie Irvine and even US President Bill Clinton have also visited the storehouse.
The Guinness Store for a personalised bottle of stout
When you get back down to the ground floor at the end of your tour you will arrive at the Guinness Store. The store has the largest selection of Guinness merchandise and memorabilia in the world and many of the items in the shop are exclusive to the storehouse.
At the storehouse you can create your own personalised bottle of stout.
Famous Guinness advertising campaigns
Guinness has a history of creating memorable and award winning adverts. The store’s Advertising Gallery tells the stories behind how many of those ads were created.
It covers famous icons such as the toucan, and various TV commercials, posters and sponsorship of cultural and sporting events – all of which have combined to make Guinness one best known Irish brands across the world.
Five bars to relax and have a drink

In all there are five bars/cafes/restaurants where you can settle down and relax with a pint.
The Gravity Bar is in the roof of the building which is the ‘head of the pint of Guinness’ in the atrium. It is the highest bar in Dublin and you can see for miles across the city from all angles.
The food in the Brewers Dining Hall has been cooked using Guinness. The Beef and Guinness stew is particularly popular.
Arthur’s Bar has a traditional Irish pub feel with a modern twist. It celebrates Irish pub culture such as a love of music and sport.
Gilroy’s Restaurant pays homage to John Gilroy – the man who created the famous ‘My Goodness my Guinness’ marketing campaign. On the ceiling are pictures of several animal characters that were created by Gilroy. It is a waiter service restaurant that serves traditional Irish food.
The Barge Cafe is a self-service cafe where you can get light bites such as sandwiches, brownies and flapjack.

The storehouse puts on live music all year round musicians from all over the world are welcome to apply to perform there.
There are large open spaces to perform and several talented up and coming performers apply to play there.
Thousands of tourists visit the storehouse each day. The performers and the visitors feed off each other creating a great atmosphere.
