Irish singer Paul Brady helped revive the song Arthur McBride in the 1970s. His version is still the one against which every other version is measured – his singing is subtle and sensitive, and his guitar playing is just brilliant. Here’s Paul performing the song live in 1977.

Planxty recorded the song on their album called simply, Planxty. Here they are performing it live at a Planxty reunion concert.
